Welcome to Clare Lodge

Clare Lodge is the leading national provider of "welfare" placements (Children Act 1989. Section 25) for young women in the U.K.  The Service is fiercely independent, not contracted to the Youth Justice Board and accept referrals in respect of young women aged 10 to 17 years who are in need of care, programmes of intervention, and protection. Typically those placed have extensive histories of abuse and exploitation, poor attachments, and low self esteem. Many of the young women have a range of health / mental health needs, and exhibit complex behaviours which may include running away, self-harm, exploitation, psycho-sexual difficulties, issues concerning drug and alcohol misuse, eating disorders, aggression, and other challenging behaviours. The young women live in groups of four and are provided with highly individualised programmes of work supported by an integrated, "on-site", multi-disciplinary team comprising of Clinical Psychology, Consultant Psychiatry, Teachers, Social Workers together with a full range of therapists and specialist counsellors.

Streamlined / Fast Referral / Placement Arrangements

Referral / placement processes are user friendly with no lengthy forms to complete. In most cases decisions are made on the basis of a telephone conversation and notified to the prospective placing social worker on an immediate basis.

Fees are fully inclusive of all care, education, health, and other specialist input and are currently £5503.00 per week.  Fees are reviewed annually at the start of each financial year.  For details of our current placement availability please click the Placements & Downloads tab.
